Current Volunteer Projects

  1. Sharing educational information with ROC members
There are an abundance of recreation opportunities on our public lands.  However, these opportunities are jeopardized when irresponsible users don’t follow the rules.   ROC strives to keep our members informed of any management changes that may affect their use via e-mail and this website.  Please check with your local BLM field office, national park or national forest on what their rules are.  If you can’t play the game by the rules, then stay home.  Illegal activities hurt everyone.
  2. Plumas National Forest Discovery Trail (or Backcountry Byway)
ROC is assisting the Plumas NF with the designation of this byway through the forest.  When designated, it will link with the Lassen Backcountry Byway to the north and a planned byway on the Tahoe NF in the south. ROC volunteers could inventory the route each spring to document road maintenance needs in a report and assist the Forest Service with light road hazard clearing.
  3. Lassen National Forest Backcountry Byway
ROC volunteers could inventory the route each spring to document road maintenance needs in report and assist the Forest Service with light road hazard clearing.
